Things as you enjoy non-stop "Papayera" Live Music and
Fun, doing the Chiva. Each Chiva Bus has a "Director"
with a microphone, and loads of experience in leading you and
the rest of the Chiva gang in a whole lotta safe, fun! Relax and
enjoy the always open bar. Meet new people, as your Chiva Bus
moves all around Cartagena. So who Chiva's? When visiting Cartagena,
everybody Chiva's! Ages: 18-100.
**CATCHING A CHIVA**
** Chiva's will pick you up at: El Dorado Hotel, Decameron Hotel,
and Caribe Hotel. If you are part of a large group they can also pick
up at your hotel. Call your hotel front desk, travel agent or telephone
the Chiva direct, for reservations and pick-up information.
** Pick-up time it's 8:30 if you waiting at the
hotel you staying at, and 8:00 if you have to go to a pick-up place.
The party on the Chiva Bus starts every night at 8:00 p.m.
The Party begins when the driver
makes his last pick up. It's an open bar with free set-ups, so enjoy!
You will motor through Laguito, Boca Grande, Centro, Castillo Grande,
Manga, and Pie de la Popa. In the old city, your Chiva will stop for
an hour or so at the historic Las Bóvedas. Here you can stretch,
dance to the beat of the "Papayera" or enjoy local entertainment.
Usually there are at least three Chiva Busses making the same stop,
so there are lots of new people to meet, plus they offer assorted
fried foods, like beef patties, chicken patties, etc. When your Chiva
Bus horn blows, it's back on the bus for the last stop at the: "Las
Escolleras", a Disco Club where you will be welcomed with a free
admission and free cocktail. Party and dance on into the early morning
hours, or get back on the bus at 11:30 p.m. for a trip back to you
first boarded the Chiva Bus. Cartagena taxis are cheap, and run all
night, so you will have no problem returning to your hotel if you
decide to dance til the sun comes up!

Chiva Buses have been operating for 15 years,
and they can also be rented for private parties.

Have incredible fun and see incredible places on the Chiva bus and
get to know Cartagena in plain braw day light. If you visit Cartagena

City Tour
The tour starts with a drive through the residential areas of the
old city of Cartagena. Then, drives to the top of La Popa for a beautiful
view of the city. There, you can visit the old monastery, and the
chapel of " La Virgen de la Candelaria." From there, you
will visit San Felipe fortress, built in the 17th century, feel the
history and mystery of this amazing fortress walls. There you can
view the old city again but in a much closer view.
The tour begins by visiting El Cabrero which is a beautiful Republican
Coffeehouse and museum. There you can see the full process of our
coffee and taste the best coffee in the world. Next door is Rafael
Nuñez house and museum, this great antique house where the
fourth time President of Colombia lived and died and who also created
our national anthem. Back at the old city you will visit Las Bovedas
(the dungeons) where provisions were stored for the troops during
the Spanish time. Today this place serves as a market of handcrafts,
souvenirs, and even jewelry stores.
When you done at Las Bovedas (the dungeons)you have a professional
tour guide that will take you around the old city. You can take pictures
of the Cathedral, Museum of Art, Saint Peter Claver Church and Monastery,
Gold Museum, etc.. etc.. etc.. With A/C trans.
